Learn to Skate — Term 1

Welcome to the BAM Arena Learn-To-Skate program! This program offers instruction using the United States Figure Skating curriculum and standards.

Term 1 runs 6 weeks for both Monday and Saturday classes. See the schedule below for exact days, times, and prices. Skaters will have a half-hour lesson and 10 minutes of practice (no practice time for Ice Explorers).

Next Session: Term 2 Registration will open late September.

Ages 2.5–3.5 Studio Rink Saturday $88

Ice Explorers

An introductory program with fun and games. Activities begin off ice — we’ll train parents how to properly tie skates. When the skater is confident, they will venture onto the ice.

Ages 3–5 Studio Rink Mon & Sat $150

Snowplow 1, 2, 3 & 4

The most elementary skating skills, combined with age-appropriate fun and games.

Ages 6+ West Rink Mon & Sat $150

Basic Skills 1–6

Introduces fundamental skills. For skaters who have passed Snowplow 4.

Ages 3–5 Studio Rink Saturday $150

Tot Hockey

Must have passed Snowplow 2.

Helmet with facemask, shin & elbow pads, and hockey stick required.

Ages 6+ Studio Rink Monday $150

Learn to Play Hockey / Youth

Must have passed Snowplow 4 or Basic 2 to enroll. Teaches the fundamentals of hockey skating across four badge levels: stance, stride, knee bend, and use of edges.

HECC-certified helmet with facemask, shin, elbow & shoulder pads, hockey gloves and stick required.

Ages 14+ West Rink Mon & Sat $150

Adult Classes

Six levels from Basic to more advanced skills. Helps promote physical fitness and improve balance and coordination.

After Basic 6 West Rink Mon & Sat $150

Pre Freestyle / Freeskate

Pre-Freeskate curriculum, Freeskate levels 1–6, for skaters after passing Basic 6.

After Basic 6 / Adv. Adult West Rink Saturday $240

Aspire Program

US Figure Skating Aspire Program through NEO Skating Academy. Proper skill development and training techniques in a safe, supportive group environment — off-ice training, on-ice classes, and skater/parent resources included.

Good to Know

1st Day Procedure, Equipment & Attire

1st Day Procedure: Skaters should arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before their scheduled class time to pick up a name tag and allow sufficient time for preparation.

Equipment: Single blade hockey or figure skates are required. All sizes of hockey and figure skates are available, and cost of skate rental included. Helmets are highly recommended (bicycle helmets are acceptable).

Attire: Comfortable, flexible, and warm clothing, including hats and gloves or mittens, is recommended for all skaters. Gloves or Mittens REQUIRED for all Snowplow classes.

Policies

All sales are final. No refunds will be given. No exceptions. No pro-rated classes. The rink reserves the right to cancel or consolidate any class. No make-up classes.

Yearly Membership Renewal

LTS USA is the only learn to skate program endorsed by USA Hockey, US Figure Skating, and US Speed Skating.

All participants in our program must have a current Learn to Skate USA membership prior to registering with our program. Go to learntoskateusa.com (yearly fee $20.00+ admin fees). Select a skating program, register/renew with NEO Skating Academy to receive/renew your basic skill membership number. You’ll need that number to register for our program.

Learn to Skate USA membership yearly new/renewal runs June 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027. Current/past members should log in and follow directions to renew. If a skater has never been a member of LTS USA, click Sign In and follow the directions.

No confirmation is emailed. We will only contact you if there is a problem with the registration.
